Rob Canning (GOTO10) and Heather Corcoran (FACT) will give a presentation of puredyne on Thursday 27th of August at the 2009 International Symposium on Electronic Arts (ISEA) this year held in Belfast, Northern Ireland.  A brief overview of some of the key applications will be given alongside an overview of the technical backend of the distribution.  There will also be a presentation of the contexts in which puredyne appears and from which it emerges and its relevance and importance to media labs, artists and institutions who wish to engage creatively with FLOSS.

NoIn EP release on GOSUB10 netlabel

posted by Claude on August 21st, 2009 -

NoIn EPNoIn EP from ClaudiusMaximus is GOSUB10 netlabel’s second release. Downloadable in a variety of formats, source code also available.

No-input mixer digitally controlled, self-connected time-varying system. An artificial aesthetic sense characterizes sonic parameters within a large space of possibilities. The absolute control of digital music is surrendered. Computerized “conductor” vs analogue orchestra.

Process: thicken a limited palette of tones (some minimal, some harsh, with little in between), using delays and pitch effects, reverberation and rhythmic distortions, quietly layering.

puredyne sprints and drops the colon

posted by Antonios on August 20th, 2009 -

We are just back from Gijon, in the north of Spain.

Some of us spent a week there working on the future release of puredyne codenamed ‘carrot and corriander’. This was our third development sprint founded by the Arts Council of England as part of the ‘puredyne for everyone’ project.

This sprint was also made possible with the help of the nice people at laboral who kindly provided us with a great working space, accomodation and some very fast transport

claudimusmaximus summerlab performance

Some of us have just returned Gijon in Spain where we participated in SummerLAB 2009 a gathering of creators,
hackers and artists working with open-source applications and tools.

SummerLAB is a participative event, an opportunity to work together in the Asturian cool summer air. Its organization, based on the way open-source software is developed, is free of hierarchy, only aiming to establish a context where free will and mutual help are put to creative purposes.

Thanks to the hangar.org crew for organising this event and for Laboral for hosting it. Hope to see you next year!

Hacker Space Fest

posted by contact on June 12th, 2009 -

The second Hacker Space Festival (HSF) will be held at the /tmp/lab in Paris, on the 26-30 June 2009. The goal of the Hacker Space Festival is to bring together people from many cultural and technological backgrounds and from different Hacker Spaces and Autonomous zones in France and Europe (and from beyond, if they can attend) to share and show what’s going on.

GOTO10 has participated to the program selection of this nice event. Unfortunately we won’t be around, but that’s not a reason to not drop by and say hi ;)
